DVSC Cosmos under 14 boys defeated Western Massachusetts Pioneers 1-0 in the stifling heat of Raleigh, North Carolina today to complete Group 3 play with an unbeaten record but weren't able to advance to the semi-finals Saturday afternoon despite posting a tie for the best record among the 6 Northern California teams at the 4th Super Y-League National Championships.
The Cosmos were relegated to second place in their group after West Kendall of Florida beat up Rochester Junior Rhinos 5-1 in the other game to win Group 3. On Friday West Kendall needed a late penalty kick to draw with Cosmos, a goal that ultimately decided the group.
